Note: All of our photos from northwest Georgia from Floyd and Dade Cos. originally identified as A. cernuum have been correctly identified by an expert in Allium as A. stellatum. This leads me to believe that others have made and are making the same mistake. This may explain the comments about the strange range reported for A. cernuum by Weakley (see A. cernuum page). The last three comments in the Habitat section are from me, not Weakley.

Habitat:

Limestone glades, outcrops, calcareous flatwoods, prairies.

Habitat information from:
Weakley, Alan S., Flora of the Southern and Mid-Atlantic States, Working Draft of 21 May 2015.

Distribution

The range of Allium stellatum

Kartesz, J.T., The Biota of North America Program (BONAP). 2015. North American Plant Atlas. (http://bonap.net/napa). Chapel Hill, N.C. [maps generated from Kartesz, J.T. 2015. Floristic Synthesis of North America, Version 1.0. Biota of North America Program (BONAP). (in press)].

There are currently no Georgia county range maps available because of confusion with A. cernuum. According to the experts, apparently, most of the collections from northwest Georgia, originally identified as A. cernuum are actually A. stellatum. See note above.
